In the olden age, when the roots of Yggdrasil weep sap and the skies of Midgard tease foreboding apparitions, a warrior not born but crafted arose from the storm-worn peaks of Bjarnfell. Valdyr, whose voice could stifle thunder and whose footsteps rang like a war drum against the bones of the world, was neither man nor god but rather between — a servant of wrath and flame carved from the ambition of the Allfather and tempered in the forge of divine war.
He wielded the axe Stormcleaver, twin-headed and deeply bas-relief with the runes of shattered realms. Without fail, he shattered the spine of the Wyrm of Eight Howls, and by that strength alone, he colossally stilled the winds of the North Sea for seven whole days. But strength alone did not make Valdyr terrifying — no, it was the act of declaration and the Horn of the Stormcall. When Valdyr blew that ancient horn, the gates of Asgard itself answered. From the halls of the hall of the honored dead, the spectral Einherjar came to fight under the banner of silence and ruin. Wherever Valdyr rode his attached black Sleipnir, smoke-shoed and aphotic, the skies above would cleave asunder, and the earth would weep.
